Andrea Cohen
Horses
The horses refuse
to go to the moon.
They do not appreciate
Swiss cheese and are
partial to stalls
and barns, where
they’re training
a ranch hand,
secretly, not
to break them.
Andrea Cohen’s poems and stories have appeared in The New Yorker, Poetry, The Threepenny Review, The Atlantic Monthly, The New Republic, Glimmer Train, and The Hudson Review, among others.
